Thank you. I intend to follow this up with a video (freely available) describing the history and the nature of the connections between the bars. Some of the bars mean "acquired by", some mean "split away from" and some mean "rights transferred to another company". The video should make that clear.
The missing Smalltalks include Ambrai Smalltalk, Pocket Smalltalk, FScript, Panda Smalltalk, Bistro, Etiole, Vista Smalltalk, SmallScript, Little Smalltalk and Redline. Each of these would typically be one bar that doesn't interact with much else with an uncertain start date and an uncertain end date. My intention is to document the major Smalltalks for a video. I don't mind saying that there are other Smalltalks, but what would I say in a video about the history of Little Smalltalk?
To answer that question, you could survey what people have said about Little Smalltalk over the years on USENET, through the archives at Google and archive.org.
Marvel Smalltalk @ www.MavelCoder.com is a Smalltalk running in a web browser (client-side) and on .NET (server-side). Excellent Smalltalk tutorial for browser based coding, desktop apps and server side capabilities.
Thank you for giving knowledge about Smalltalk history. This post is very beneficial for us. We appreciate the detail you give to us and discuss with us. Keep up the great work
THANK YOU! This is an outstanding representation of the stemma of Smalltalk. Kudos!
